👀 After indulging in Truffle Pasta during lockdown and have it being the most memorable lockdown dish. When Big Sam Young and his partner Grace Chen announced they were launching a luxury style bistro in Castlecrag i knew i wanted to dine there for my birthday. To my delight we got parking right out the front and walked straight in!

💥 The restaurant is super intimate of only 45 seats. It's a "secret joint" feel, a place you discover rather than stumble upon. It seems to be a place that generates excitement. Sam himself greets guests, adding a personal touch that makes it feel more like a friend's gathering than a formal restaurant. It has more of a darker atmosphere which is unexpected for a casual bistro but could contribute to the cool and intimate vibe.

💁🏼‍♀️ Service was impeccable, our waiter was personable and friendly and very attentive. Sam came over to make sure everything was going smoothly and to top our dinner with truffles!

🍸 I really appreciated their “Sober juice” menu, a full page of mocktails, soda, soft drinks and cider. I had their mandarin soda which was amazing!

🍴 Firstly we were kindly gifted Potato cakes, with salted egg yolk (+caviar10ea) 9ea, can’t believe we didnt order these ourselves and felt so lucky we got to try this. The potato was so crispy on outside and fluffy on inside with the flavour of the burst of egg yolk and caviar just complimented eachother so well.

2GR Beef Tartare-Full Blood Wagyu MB9+, potato crisp $32 + truffle (in season) absolutely amazing the tartare was SO fresh it was so nice with the chives and egg yolk with the crunch of the chips. Just perfect.

Onto the mains BSY Truffle Pasta $88 *sings ahhhhhhhhh* the most decadent, amazing pasta, i miss you and i think about you often.

550g O’connor bone in sirloin, ginger shallot relish, jus $98 absolutely perfectly cooked, steak was juicy and flavourful, i’d probably go all in next time and get an even nicer steak.

To finish was Smore dessert roasted marshmallow, chocolate with potato crisp, i love the salty flavour instead of the sweet traditional graham cracker.

They have some amazing specials i cant wait till i win the lotto one day and have a full baller catering menu at home.
