C.C. Babcoq

C.C. Babcoq

📍 Cronulla

👀 C.C. Babcoq is a Cronulla institution, it’s like a fancy Chargrill Charlie’s of the south. The name, C.C. Babcoq is adapted from the character from The Nanny, the sassy and bold C.C. Babcock. A rotisserie chicken shop & bar, focusing on making contemporary comfort food. Simple but amazing.

Their slogan is “Friends, family and chicken” by Cronulla locals, Harry and Mario Kapoulas (HAM café). Teaming up with the ex-head chef of The Apollo, Josh Davidson, C.C.’s is part restaurant, part rotisserie chicken shop – fancy chickens cooked the traditional French way, to eat in or takeaway.

Both restaurant and rotisserie menu highlight quality ingredients, including locally-sourced meats, with delicious and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Good food done right.

💥 The Tom Mark Henry studio have created a fun and quirky fit out for a rotisserie, carvery and cocktail bar. The namesake C.C. Babcock from The Nanny is sassy and bold. Her personality has been adopted for the interiors, with a fusion of a coastal influences to reference the beachside location.
They incorporated stills from the show ‘The Nanny’, scenes, outfits and lines that could provide inspiration for an equally ‘sassy’ interior, whilst fitting in with the Cronulla foodie scene.

Very simplistic 90s, they collaborated with a mural artist to inject colour and pattern onto the 4m high rear wall. Lymesmith’s mural “Rockpool” is clearly visible from the street and stimulates the interest of the passersby.

Curves all over the place in the shape of the counter, soft edges on seating and design details such as terrazzo floor. The show stopping piece is definitely the green terrazzo bar.

🍷 Described as the best cocktails in town! Yet to try…

🍴 Their menu is a designed to be shared. We shared between 6 hungry girls.

  • Whole chicken with Lemon + Herb & Garlic Butter $19.50 - wouldn’t be my choice getting lemon and herb, this was super moist

  • Large crinkle cut chips $12 - delicious!!

  • Pearl Cous Cous Tabouli Extra-large $19.9 - what an EXTRA salad

  • Mac n cheese Extra-large $19.9 - just look at the crust of this bad boy

  • Green’s & Grains Extra-large $19.9

Due for another visit and would love to try their rolls, wraps, snack packs or build my own bowl. Would dine in next time, just to see this stunning fit out.
