Boronia Kitchen
Boronia Kitchen
π Hunters Hill
π A local institution, Boronia Kitchen has been around since 2018. Their cuisine is inspired by Australia's elements, itβs a contemporary, local eatery serving home-style food from an open kitchen.
Boronia is an Aussie flowering gum, so I can see the Aussie native flower connection.
π₯ BK feels like you are walking into someones home. There is some bar seating and long lounge seating with tables. We dined against a mirror which was different!
ππΌββοΈ Owner and Chef is Simon Sandall who worked with Matt Moran as head chef for Aria. He is a Hunters Hill local, so it really feels like you are coming over for dinner. The menu changes season to season and really speaks true of the produce and weather of the season.
π· Their extensive cellar list is βFor birthdays, Tuesdays and third datesβ love it!
π΄ -Grilled Clarence River octopus, whipped roe, gaufrette potatoes - this dish is stunning and probably my fav of the dinner
-Smoked salmon - smoked in an old Torbeck wine barrel - this felt a little like sashimi, not so much smoked.
-Pan fried haloumi, fioretto, endive, macadamia nut, broad beans
-Duck dumplings, XO sauce, pickled daikon - these were amazing!
-Seared tuna, spiced eggplant, harissa, dukkah crisp.
β¨ I would love to try their new menu, raw fish, wagyu bresaola, prawn toast and the Miso Barramundi baked in paper bark sounds amazing! Such a local gem and highly recommended.
