Goat Yoga

Goatlandia

📍 Santa Rosa

👀 This was the last item on our itinerary and such a cool way to farewell California. Goatlandia is a place for people to experience compassion, have fun, and do cool things together. And we were going to do some yoga…with goats! Deb the founder and owner of Goatlandia, was so sweet and welcoming. We first had a tour of the property, met the goats, birds, horses and sheep, fed the pigs and met my personal fav the beautiful dogs Elf and Annie.

Goatlandia’s mission is to have fun while helping animals, people, and the planet. They rescue farm animals, empower people with information about the extensive environmental impact of animal agriculture on our climate and planet. Educate people about the benefits of plant-based eating and living a compassionate eco-friendly lifestyle. Inspire love and compassion for all animals by providing opportunities for people to meet and interact with their rescued farm animals.

Goat yoga was very fun, it was mainly an awesome yoga session with a few big goats in the way but something to tick off the bucket list.

☕️ At the end of the yoga session we drank turmeric lattes, and this was the best turmeric latte i’ve ever had in my life!! I had to get the recipe afterwards and was lucky enough to get it. So I will post the recipe here, not only for you for reading this far into the blog, but also for myself so I never lose the recipe.

Turmeric Latte

  • 1 cup rice milk

  • 1 cup coconut milk

  • 1 cup soy milk

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar (more if you like it sweet!)

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 2 star anise pods

  • 1/4 cup sliced ginger

  • 2 tsp ground Turmeric

  • 1 tsp pink salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Steep all ingredients together and simmer for 5 minutes until sugar is dissolved. Cool completely and Let sit over night in fridge. Strain out spices and ginger pieces. Serve warm or cold! When I serve warm I heat it up and then blend it to make it frothed and sprinkle with cinnamon 🍵🍵🍵

✨ Thank you Deb for opening up your sanctuary to us and for sharing the recipe.
