Rap + burgers + bubblegum cocktails + churro bowls for dessert = my paradise
Milky Lane
Bondi beach, Sydney
Dinner celebrating promotions and babies #goals
Located on one of the busiest streets in Bondi, Curlewis. It’s probably the restaurant with all the cute puppies out the front. As you walk into Milky Lane it is covered in grafitti and a bar runs along the side of the restaurant. Rap music playing or a DJ on some nights, this place has a great vibe.
It is the perfect place for date night or group dinners, where you can cosy up in on a couple table or like we did, dominated the mural table. The food is amazing, plenty of starter to share, great range of burgers to choose from but my biggest advice is to leave room for dessert!
The cocktail list is extensive, i tried to get through the whole lot in one night. The service was a little inattentive but it would be hard with our big, rowdy group. I’d love to come back here during the day and bring the puppy.
What i loved to drink:
Bubble-gum sour $18 Laird’s applejack brandy, lemon juice, bubble gum syrup, old-fashioned bitters, topped with toasted marshmallow. - this was my cocktail of choice for the evening but you can’t have TOO many, the sour got to me!! But it was super yummy
Milky lane punch $18 Bacardi superior rum, st germaine, passionfruit & lychee - perfectly refreshing, fresh - this was a crowd favourite
& the food:
Mac & Cheese croquettes $9 Bacon & four cheese macaroni w Milky Lane dipping sauce - this was the best mac n cheese croquettes i have ever had, super dark and crispy but so cheesy inside and that Milky Lane dipping sauce was so good i ate it with rest of the starters
Loaded Fries $9 Beer batter chips, bacon bits, cheesy gravy, shallots and Milky Lane special sauce - addictive and still stayed crunchy even when loaded which is hard to get right
Korean Fried chicken $9 - for a burger place, they know how to do fried chicken very well!
Lil Weezy $12 Wagyu beef pattie, american cheddar, pickles, mustard, cheesy gravy & tomato relish - i chose this as i love cheese and Weezy is my fav rapper haha next time i’d like to try the traditional Milky Lane burger i think the freshness of the lettuce and tomato would be better
Churro Bowl $11 served warm and filled with coconut gelato, liquid nutella and salted caramel sauce - this was to die for, i think it might be the best dessert in Sydney, big call i know but seriously, what is better than warm churro, dat cinnamon doe! Ice cream and chocolate and caramel sauce? It’s not too much, too sloppy, it keeps its warmness and crunchiness and doesn’t melt too fast. Milky Lane have absolutely perfected this!
Thank you to Jamie from Delta airlines who hosted our dinner and Christian from Milky Lane for having us <3. Check out Milky Lane for yourself or their pop up at Castle Hill this weekend July 14-16 2017.
