Modern & reinvented Thai

Long Kin

Pyrmont

Dinner with Bae

Look for the monkeys! This restaurant has a monkey theme, including a giant monkey as you walk in. They also have a shelf unit with pop vinyls, random and kitsch!

Long Kin has only been opened for 8 months, but for a new kid on the block they are getting more and more popular. We went on a cold winters night so it wasn’t packed but the kitchen was busy with online orders as well as restaurant orders.

Service is friendly and the food was modern and definitely a twist on classic Thai food. If you lived in the pyrmont area this would be your go to local.

  • Mar hor;; citrus based, caramelised coconut, pork floss, chilli & coriander - this was the most perfect way to start the meal. Light and fresh starter. The textures and tastes worked lovely together.

  • Soft shell crab - extremely generous portions with a lot of crab and super crunchy!

  • Massaman Nuea;; Massaman coconut curry of slow-cooked  osso bucco and potatoes served with cucumber achar - pretty as a picture, flavours were good

  • Samui Wonder;; Steamed curry basa fish, prawn, calamari, with basil, kaffir lime and cabbage in whole young coconut- I was warned this dish would take a while to cook so it came out last and yes it was worth the wait, generous amount of seafood, coconut flavour throughout the curry. Best seafood/fish curry I’ve ever had!

Thanks Long Kin and Ompty media for the invite <3
