Honto
π Googled Date nights in Foritude Valley and wound up here!
π‘ Dark, moody, and effortlessly cool. Think sleek interiors, soft glows, and an intimate atmosphere that makes every bite feel like an experience. Perfect for a date night, a chic catch-up, or just pretending youβre the main character in a Japanese noir film.
π€΅ββοΈ Service was excellent and memorable. Efficient, and perfectly in tune with the spaceβno unnecessary theatrics, just a well-paced, polished experience.
πΉ Didnβt dive into the drinks this time, but Tim had a Japanese beer.
π Kingfish, mandarin ponzu, burnt strawberry, kombu ($26) β A masterclass in balance. The silky, fresh kingfish was elevated by the bright mandarin ponzu, while the burnt strawberry added an unexpected but welcome depth. A must-order.
π Karage chicken burger - crunchy and delicious that milk bun was to die for, lightly toasted!
π₯ Steamed pork gyoza, chilli oil, chives ($19) β Soft, juicy, and packed with flavor. The delicate wrapper gave way to a pork filling that was perfectly seasoned, with the chilli oil bringing just enough heat to make things interesting. A classic done impeccably.
π Pork katsu Sando, tonkatsu, cabbage ($17) β Itβs rich, indulgent, and exactly what you want from a Sando. If you donβt get this, youβre doing it wrong.
π Mushroom Udon Noodles, Japanese XO, Crispy Shallots - this was ok and i think since they have elevated this dish.
β¨ Honto is the kind of place that impresses. Next time, Iβm coming back for the cocktails, the wagyu, and whatever else catches my eye on that ridiculously good-looking menu.
