Warike restaurant launch

Warike

📍 Surry Hills

👀 Located at the bottom or top? of Devonshire street is Warike. Plenty of parking nearby, right on the light rail line too for extra convenience. In Quechua, an aboriginal language from Peru, Warike (or “warique”) means two words. The first being “wa” in which referred to everything that was unknown, or that was hidden in secret. The second is “rique” which means stew.

💥 The vibe for the launch party was so fun, complete with a Peruvian band, dancing and an endless supply of Pisco sours. Such a great mix of foodies, heaps of newbies, lifestyle and a few OG’s like our table.

💁🏼‍♀️ The Peruvian culture is so warm and inviting. This family run business has such a cool spin on traditional Peruvian food. All dishes are served tapas style sharing plates, therefore all dishes are crafted to be shared between 2 or more patrons.

🍷 The drink menu is so good! Peruvian beer ✅ Pisco Sours ✅  A delicious Pina colado-esque mocktail that has pineapple juice and ginger beer ✅

💥 We were so spoilt to try almost all of the menu! My absolute favourite dishes were the Scallops Tiradito, the textures in the dish and the flavours were superior to the other tiraditos. Aji De Gallina Rolls were like chicken spring rolls with an amazing sauce made of bread! Tasted so different and covered in cheese. Last but not least Lomo Saltado such a beautiful Scotch fillet served rare which I actually loved.

✨ Thank you Mick for the invite, appreciate you. All the fish was super fresh from the market that morning, I love raw fish and was absolutely spoilt to try all the raw fish dishes on the menu. Was so good to see the foodie community out in full force and socialising and eating what we love to do!
