Charcoal cocktails and Tuna pizza

SASH

Surry Hills

Opposite Nel Restaurant in Surry Hills is the new SASH, The concept is from a NYC-style Japanese style. SASH is also in Melbourne. The menu was designed by Executive Head Chef Raphael Santos from Nobu, Saké and Sea Salt.

The restaurant had a million dollar fit out and it very aesthetic. Very industrial Melbourne vibes, lots of concrete, brown booths and purple neon lights.

  • Ahi Tropical Tuna Pizza - Sesame crusted tuna tataki, mango, strawberry, avocado, pickle ginger, wasabi mayo. - it actually worked!! I was a little apprehensive but this is their signature pizza and it was delicious.

  • Sake Buttermilk Nuggets - 48 hour sake buttermilk fried chicken tender, smoked chipotle salt, maple syrup & kewpie mayo. - pretty good nuggies but would have preferred smaller bites

  • Ebi Mayo Crispy Prawns -Tiger prawns cooked in our signature japanese spicy mayo. - too fried, tasted more batter than prawn

  • Kyoto Black Lychee Martini - Vodka, Soho lychee, activated charcoal, elderflower - this is a standout cocktail, absolutely fresh and delicious
