Bar dining In Kirribilli

The Botanist

Kirribilli

Cute little bar for date night. Easy to find parking nearby. This basement style dining bunker has beautiful cocktails and shared plates. Lots of ferns hanging around and beautiful wooden tables. Lighting is dim and romantic.

Oxtail croquettes, green romesco, capers, parsley and preserved lemon $14 - I love oxtail!! These croquettes were full of flavour and the meat pulled apart beautifully when you bit in.

Pressed confit duck, date pure, orange and spiced amaranth $22 - the dish I remember most from the night, this duck was soooo nice. Such a generous serving. The sauce on top was almost foamy and every bite we dipped in with the amaranth, the textures worked well together.

Sticky lamb neck smoked yoghurt. fried eggplant, ras el hanout, blackened onion and beets $30 - another pretty dish, full of flavour, I think this was my first time eating lamb neck and it was surprisingly soft. The stickiness made the dish.

Smoked bullalo mozzarella, green beans, chilli, mint, currants and sunflower seeds $21 - so many green beans!! I would’ve like to see it featured the cheese more.

Caramelised white choc mousse with honey comb, Jerusalem artichoke chips, smoked hazelnut & choc brownie. Such a nice way to top off the night. I love white choc and mousse and honeycomb so this was a winner for me.
