Starters served on a clothesline

Dinner

This has always been a bucket list item of mine. It was an intimate restaurant indeed. There is only around 10 tables or so, all booth style facing into the restaurant, which was nice to sit next to my partner instead of across. Greeted with a cocktail trolley we knew we were off to a good start. They had two cocktails to choose from a chose the gin grapefruit number that had a rose petal frozen in an ice cube, such a nice touch.

The staff were exceptional and so knowledgeable, they were upsellers too, asking us to try drinks as we had our dinner but linked it to their childhood so it was hard to say no.

Complimentary starters on a mini clothesline arrived and I knew this was going to be my new favourite Melbourne restaurant. You choose 4-9 courses and you pick the same dish as your dining partner to share the same experience that’s nice!!

We chose the 4 courses ($95pp) as we weren’t that hungry, but definitely next time we will do more. Octopus was amazing. Pig spanakopita was so flavoursome, it was the Press Club’s version of a normal spanakopita which had all the flavours of a normal spanakopita but it was more deconstructed. Beef was beautiful. Apple baklava was amazing to finish with! With some complimentary dishes including greek yoghurt ice-cream pops with salted caramel and dill, so refreshing. Best night.
