Sriracha sloppy Joes

Sriracha sloppy Joes

These are delicious and so much taste for just meat and bread rolls pretty much…

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 small brown onion, finely chopped

  • ½ red capsicum, finely chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 500g beef mince

  • 310ml (1 ¼ cups) tomato passata

  • 2 ½ tablespoons Sriracha chilli sauce

  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup

  • 1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar

  • 3 teaspoons red wine vinegar

  • 4 large soft white bread rolls, warmed, split

  • Sliced pickles, to serve

  • Iceberg lettuce wedges, to serve

METHOD

Step 1 Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the onion, capsicum and garlic. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until softened. Add the mince and cook, stirring, for 4 minutes or until mince has browned.

Step 2 Stir in passata, Sriracha, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and vinegar until combined. Season. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 12 minutes or until thickened.

Step 3 Spoon the beef mixture among the rolls. Serve with pickles, lettuce wedges and chips, if using.
