Hot doughnut pretzel and snow!
Munich Brahaus
📍 The Rocks
👀 The most perfect place to celebrate Christmas in July in Sydney. Plenty of parking and public transport nearby.
As we arrived the place was booming!! Lucky we had a reservation as this place filled up so quick, they do have extra rooms and bars downstairs though so try your luck for a walk in too.
💥 One of the most iconic spots in the Rocks, the restaurant is bunker style underground. Absolutely decked to the halls for Christmas complete with snow, snowmen, reindeer (on the wall mounted), trees, Santa’s chair and tinsel galore.
💁🏼♀️ Plenty of staff here looking after you and your table, all dressed in Lederhosen.
🍷 Plenty of beer to choose from in 500ml or 1L. Schnapps. Or beers with a twist or cocktails jugs.
We ate:
Schnitzel - CORDON BLEU $32 Two layers of crispy chicken schnitzel filled with Swiss-cheese, smoked bacon with fries. This was Tim’s choice and he lived in Germany so I trust him, it was delicious and the standout was actually the fries, they tasted triple cooked!
TASTING PLATTER $36 - Crackling pork belly, frankfurter, kielbasa, cheesy kransky, chicken schnitzel, sauerkraut, red cabbage, creamy mash, apple compote, bier jus I didn’t know what to get so this was perfect because it was a little bit of everything. The pork belly was a little over cooked but better the next day for leftovers. The schnitty was perfect and all the sausages were delicious!!
APPLE STRUDEL $16 - Apple. Strudel. Just better. Spiced apple, walnut, vanilla ice cream a traditional dish that had to be ordered.
DOUGHNUT PRETZEL $12 - Munich’s answer to the doughnut. Salted caramel sauce. This pretzel was hot and steaming I loved it, should have ordered ice cream with it yum!!!!
I’d love to try so much stuff here, the Knodel, the knuckle, the Germans ploughmans lunch also sounds amazing.
✨ Thank you my queen Varsha and Collabrium for the invite ❤️
