The Panda Yum Cha

The Panda Yum Cha

📍 Macquarie

👀 The first of Hungry Diner events commence! This was Panda Yum Cha in Macquarie. Level 3 has the best access is via the centre, through the Orange car park near H&M, Level 3. The Panda Yum Cha serves Cantonese Dim Sum and Chinese Cuisine in an such a nice space it doesn’t feel like its attached to a Shopping Centre. I actually find Macquarie Centre lacking good food, until now. Panda is an escape from the hustle and bustle of the centre and a chance to sit down, relax and enjoy some really great food.

💥 The restaurant’s design is full of nature expressed in elements like lantern ceilings, a giant earth, colourful clouds and stars.

💁🏼‍♀️ There are plenty of yum cha in the area with Eastwood just around the corner but Panda is an elevated experience.

🍷 I drank a lot of red wine, W 1912 2015 Shiraz, they kept me very topped up I had to leave my car there haha

🍴 We had a menu then heaps of additional items were added.

Thai Style Roast pork

Fried shrimp balls - these are the balls with flaked almonds on the outside which provided a Big Crunch to the dish

Peking duck - with pancakes and lettuce wraps - the lettuce wraps I loved provided a deeper flavour than pork

Hong Kong crispy garlic lamb racks - these cutlets went flying off the table and everyone LOVED this dish especially

Black garlic beef tenderloin cubes - so so tender it literally melted served with snow peas and mushrooms yum!

Fruit sweet and sour pork - this was served with actual fruit! Strawberries and apples which was so different and worked well.

Prawn and Bean Curd Hot Pot - I am not a fan of hot pot so I steered clear

Steamed Mixed Mushrooms with White Gourd

Dry-Fried Green Beans with Minced Pork

Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice - such a nice fried rice dish!

Wolf Berry and Osmanthus Jelly - these red berry jelly cubes arrived and everyone was intrigued, a nice fresh sweet bite

Mango pancakes - delicious and the best way to finish off this epic dinner

✨ We had such a good crew on two big tables it was such a good night, the food was plentiful and we all had full tummies! A friend text me recently asking for good yum cha but not in the city. I didn’t realise how hard it was to find!! Then we found Panda 🐼 Thanks to Hungry Diner for the invite.
