Bigger, better and more crowded than ever
Parra Lanes
Parramatta
My absolute fav food festival of the year. Get lost around Parramatta! Opening night (Tuesday) for Parra Lanes would have been the quietest night out of the 4 nights. Still not super quiet. To put in perspective I lined up about 15 mins for Butter in one straight line. 2 nights later we lined up for 25 mins with a barricade in place. Be sure to arrive at opening time and early in the festival (first few opening days) and a weeknight if possible as this festival packs out!
This is my fav food festival of the year. Why? Because there’s not just one place and that’s it. You go around the corner, down an alley and discover a whole new section of the festival. It also combines not just food but interesting art and vibrant music. I loved seeing random people gathering to dance in the middle of the street. So cool! They always have great food suppliers. Knafeh, Butter, Fluffy Crunch and Archie Rose. Make sure you get a map as it’s easy to get lost. Yum
On the first night we hit Butter for those delicious wings, stumbled across Tacohawker for their cheeseburger taco when we came to find out Johnny Lobster sold out of lobster by 7:30pm!
For dessert it was straight to Fluffy Crunch, where the staff their jokes they were putting chilli flakes on our fairy floss 🙊 another big line up for Stroop Bros was not disappointing to end the night with an original Stroopwafel ❤️ washed down with an Archie Rose cocktail 🍸
Can’t wait to see Parra Lanes come back next year. I’d love to see them get more involved with foodies with some sort of VIP tent like night noodle has so all the bloggers can meet up because it’s pretty hard to bump into people with this festival being so broad.
Oh and I absolutely love that this is a dog friendly festival 🐶 my pupper was so happy smelling all the foods
