Duck egg, mushrooms and truffle oil heaven
Left of Field
Rhodes
Brekkie with the BFF
Now this is actually the 3rd time I’ve tried to eat @ Left of Field, the other 2 times i could not find a carspot anywhere so had to give up, so firstly i would recommend visiting on a weekday, or catching public transport it’s a 10 min walk from the train station.
As i arrived to Left of Field it reminded me of a warehouse style Melbourne cafe like Kitty Burns or The Kettle Black, I’m so lucky because Rhodes is the next suburb from me. Left of Field is close to the water, in a beautiful location. The high ceiling, indoor outdoor style is so inviting.
The service was truly a standout, i love when the staff come down to your level and take your order. The food came almost instantly. We were checked on throughout our meal and felt completely looked after.
Food was fantastic and chai lattes were yummy too.

Fried duck egg, asparagus, garlic, wild mushrooms, pecorino & truffle oil $18 - the flavours of this dish is amazing, truffle and mushrooms are one of my favourite combos. I ate everything on the plate and that is a very rare thing!
